Party and Zoo

Friday we celebrated Sanders birthday at our house.  Regan and Lee brought over Knox, so I blew up the jumpy and they had a blast on that.  We ate pizza and cookie cake...you'll notice that Sanders and Knox absolutely loved the cookie cake.  Sanders got a lot of fun things...mostly Buzz Lightyear...his favorite character right now.
On Saturday we took our zoo to the zoo in New Orleans.  The weather was perfect and we had a blast!  Our friend Nick, who went to law school with Matt, met up with us.  We haven't seen him in about three years, so it was good to see him.  On the way home, we stopped and got a po-boy...and of course we stopped and got Cafe Du'Monde beignets!!!!  The day was an overall success...Sanders had a blast and that's all that matters!

Happy Birthday Sanders!

Well...technically not until tomorrow, but since I only have time to blog once a week, the day before will have to do! : ) I cannot believe you are turning two! Time flys by soooo fast!   On this day, two years ago, your dad and I headed to the hospital.  Around 5PM, I had some mashed potatoes from KFC- (I know everybody reading this is salivating at the mouth, craving them!) We picked KFC because it was very close to Mobile Infirmary and I never thought I wouldn't be able to eat for 36 hours......We went back to the hospital and waited and waited and waited for the induction to begin.  Finally at 10PM, we had a room. Eva and Millicent were our L&D nurses.  I was hooked up and ready to go.  At 3AM, I started feeling things that hurt.  Hurt in a not good way.  I told Matt and he told me to go back to sleep because tomorrow was going to be a really busy day...umm no.  Get up and get the nurse!! Eva came in and said I was 4CM, to get ready because I was going to get my epidural soon.  PTL! (Koodos to all of you out there that do it without medicine.  You all are from a different planet.)  So, Suess was called and we got the show on the road! The day passed by slowly...my whole family and Matts were present.  Anna was sweet enough to come down too!  At about 2PM, I was fully dialated, so I began pushing. And pushing. And pushing. And pushing. And pushing. My epidural wore off on the left side...ouch! More please! A little over two hours went by and Dr. Dawkins came into the room.  You were stuck and a c-section was going to have to be done.  At 5:33 PM, you changed our lives forever.  You were perfect! 6lbs, 9oz and 19 in!  I'll never forget hearing your first cry and holding you.  I was overwhelmed with emotion...happy and knowing how blessed we were to have you in our family! : )
Since that day and everyday my prayer(s) for you have been for you to come to know the Lord.  Specific verses:

**  Luke 2:52 for you to "grow in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man."
**  Matthew 5:16 to "let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven."
**  Proverbs 3:5-6 to "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart.  And lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."
**  Jeremiah 29:11 for you to always know- "He has plans for you.  Plans to prosper you and not to harm you.  Plans for a hope and future!"

I love you and cannot imagine life without you.  You are fun, kind, loving, eager to learn, such an awesome BIG brother....the list goes on and on.  I am proud of you and what you are becoming.  Loving on your brothers as you have and do daily shows how unselfish and kind you are.  Thank you for being you. I LOVE YOU Sanders! Happy 2nd Birthday!

Going home

First of April

We have been quite busy over the past two weeks...what's new? Ha! Two weekends ago we packed up and headed to Lake Martin to have an early celebration of Sanders 2nd birthday with Matt's family.  After packing, for what seemed like 50+hours, we headed out on Friday night.  I was so excited to get away...and what a better way to do it when water, a boat, cake and icecream and some family are involved?  We all had fun seeing everybody and just getting away.  Gigi and Jim gave him some clothes.  Aunt Glenda and Uncle David gave him some fun books...he loves to be read to! The jumpy in some of the pics below were from Pops and Nana.  It has become a saving grace for me while waiting for Matt to return home from work.  I can just throw in the kiddos and watch as Sanders runs around the twins and they just stare at him in amazement.  They absolutely adore their big brother!
