So, I'm a newbie at this blogging thing. Five months ago somebody couldn't have gotten my energized self to sit down for a long enough time to write something...but now that I'm almost five months pregnant, I take all of the rest time I can get!!! Naps and being lazy are two wonderful things!!! Trying to decide to start trying to become pregnant was a long process. Matt and I had always said "five years." When that five year mark was coming up, I kept telling myself (and my mother, to her disapproval) "just one more half-marathon and then I'll get off the BC." Well, the April Country Music Half in Nashville ended up being my last. The end of April I decided, what the heck, let's try. After all, who knows how long it will take us to have a little one? To my amazement (oh, me of little faith) we became pregnant in July. All has been grand so far. As stated earlier just LOTS and LOTS of naps...no sickness PTL!!
So skip ahead 4 1/2 months to last week. I swore it was going to be the worst week ever...Bama at number one, Obama as President elect...and I was 99% positive I was having a little baby girl. Don't get me wrong, having a healthy baby is the goal here...Ive just always invisioned myself as having little boys running around. The morning we were going to find out what we were having, the Lord and I were chatting. "God, I know I am being so selfish and human with all of this...I just don't know what I am going to do with a little girl" (like I know what I am giong to do with a boy since he's our first. I was almost in tears.) I kept repeating"Be still" and "for I know the plans I have for you..." during that time. How silly of me to be worried about that! In all I have been apart of, the Lord has ALWAYS know what is best for me...thank goodness I didn't get what I always I wanted when I was growing up. I would have been some bama fan/figure ice-skater (yes laugh...I do have a little girly side) named Brandy, (hated Brady as a child) who married the wrong guy.
Anyways, Matt and my mother accompanied me to the doctor last Monday. My blood pressure was up becuase I was sooooo nervous/excited. When the doctor was listening to the heartbeat, she even said girl. Deep breaths and off to the ultra-sound room I headed. When the tech asked me why I thought it was a girl I just told her because. She replied, "well it's not...it's little boy!" My mom and Matt jumped up and down, yelled ( you would have thought Auburn had just won the Natl Chapionship for Matt and Bama had won for Mom.) My mom even puncaed Matt on the arm and told him "he did it!" I asked the tech if she was positive and she said yea. I'll never forget the image and the feeling I felt that day. It has taken over a week for all of it to sink in. Matt and I are having a little baby boy, Matthew Sanders Hall (calling him Sanders) and we could never be more thrilled!!! I know it is going to be a learning process, but I am so thankful the Lord has allowed us to be apart of this little one's life. My prayers for Sanders are that Matt and I will lay the foundation for him to be rooted and grow as a child who knows the Lord and wants to serve Him and have a relationship with Him. Prayers are welcome!!!!
